8 Advices for Beginners in 3D Printing

I was having a conversation with one of the group experts in our community, Ondrej Novotný, talking about the overall using experience of resin 3D printing, and the difficulties that people often run into.       Being an experienced 3D printing user himself, he understands that  beginners may find it a bit challenging at the outset, and able to provide some advices that can help them to improve their 3D printing skill, without scurry aimlessly. My advice to beginners is to take their time, follow best practices, and seek advice from the 3D printing community. With patience and persistence, their experience with resin 3D printing is likely to improve over time. 1. Read the Manual:       Start by thoroughly reading the user manual and documentation that comes with your resin 3D printer. Understand its specifications, capabilities, and safety guidelines. 2. Slicing Software:       Familiarize yourself with ...

A Simple Tip to Increase the Surface Quality of Prints

The quality of surfaces of resin 3D  prints varies as it is affected by lots of factors, one of them is the model orientation when preparing the model. Orienting the model, especially for those which has sudden increase or decrease area of cross section, can increase the quality of the model's surface, by minimize the difference between those area of cross sections. This way can also help stabilize the plate-shaped model, spreading out the forces from a single direction to the whole model, decreasing the chance of deformation. ▲ Layer line is a common thing happened on resin 3D prints. This surface annoying many people who pursuit details and perfection. /Evaty Yu     The common way is to orienting the model by 45 degree and see if the result is satisfactory. Sometimes it did work but just doesn't quite there. In this stage most people will simply do the post processing and sand the surface to eliminate those imperfections, but some people would rather adjust and ex...

[Aqua 8K] [Mighty 12K] Brian's Printing Setting for 12K Upgrade Kit with ACF Film

Brian Gordon recently purchased the 12K Upgrade Kit for his Sonic Mighty 8K Printer and did a series of tests and calibrations to see how well the new 12K LCD will holds up compared to the original 8K LCD.     To be able to see the true performance of the 12K LCD, Brian had to first dial in the Aqua Gray 8K resin that he choose, with the ACF film comes with the Upgrade Kit.  And the final he got is a successful print of Cones of Calibration and a good result of 3DRS Starship Calibration test.     He also gave a full review for his 12K Upgrade Kit in the Phrozen 3D Printer Group on Facebook, which you can read it here:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/Phrozen3DPENG/posts/2497617153736770/     Here is his result and settings. For those who are interested, should give it a try to see if his settings works with your printer. ▲ Success print of Cone of Calibration by Brian. ▲ Success print of 3DRS Starship Calibration test by Brian. ▲ Brian's prin...

The Principle Behind Fast Resin 3D Printing

TL;DR:  There are several things you should look into when try to shorten your printing time. Before you start to adjust the speed of the setting, find a stable setting as your starting point. Understand your equipment and the material you are using. Choose a resin that requires lower exposing time with low viscosity, and install a releasing film that is not sticky to the cured resin.  Fast printing is a result of the combination of right setting for right tools, experimenting with the setting to optimize it is necessary. Expect to spend time on this process.      Printing fast has becoming a trending topic in Phrozen community recently. After Phrozen released a video promoting their ACF film, with the printer applied with the ACF film ended up prints 6x faster then the other one shown in the demonstration video, people are hyped about this idea. ...
